Start Up Scrap Reduction

Picture
Startup scrap is reduced by the Die Therm startup routine. The startup routine enables the
casting process engineer to create an automatic gradual increase in water flow rate each shot
while the die is heating. The increase in flow is controlled by the amount of heat that is sensed to assure that the die does not stay cold long and that the die does not overheat during the startup routine. The result of the startup routine is a 30% to 50% reduction in startup scrap.
